Annika Sorenstam won on the LPGA Tour 72 times from 1995-2008, including a staggering 11-win year in 2002! Not to mention that she was the first (& only to date) to break 60 on the LPGA Tour! You can’t spell golf without A-N-N-I-K-A.
Se Ri Pak
Who’s that World Golf Hall of Fame-er, youngest ever Women’s Open Winner? Oh yeah, it’s Se-ri Pak!
When Pak came to the LPGA in 1998 she was the only Korean player (and only 20 years old!). 10 years later, she was one of 45 Koreans on tour. Talk about inspiration, she excited a nation!
Renee Powell
From being the 2nd African-American woman on the LPGA tour, to the only woman golfer to ever receive an honorary doctor of laws degree from the University of St. Andrews (after a 250-professional-tournament career!), Powell is an absolute shatterer of glass ceilings.
Nancy Lopez
Lopez came blazing out of the gates of her golf career with 2 U.S. Girls’ Junior wins as an amateur at ages 15 and 17. In her rookie year in the LPGA tour she won 9 tournaments... 5 of them in a row! This Bad Madre had 48 LPGA wins in her career.
Laura Davies
Davies showed the world that hopping the pond and topping the LPGA money list was no thang (for her at least). Her 87 professional wins included four majors and proved that the LPGA Tour could be conquered by international players.
